Ellingham Hall is a stunning Northumberland wedding venue, brimming with character.

Getting Married at Ellingham Hall?

Located in Northumberland, Ellingham Hall has been restored to its earlier glory and is now one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the North East. For the last several years, the owners have worked diligently to turn the venue into an exclusive retreat where couples can enjoy their wedding day with their closest family and friends. The team at Ellingham Hall has years of experience planning weddings and other events.

My style as a North East Wedding Photographer captures all the beauty and style this type of country home offers. From the fabulous converted chapel to the reception rooms, there are many angles to choose from when looking for the best candid shots. Amidst the luxury of the Hall, it is easy to capture the bridesmaids whispering to one another and the mum of the bride shedding a tear as she watches her daughter become a wife.

Learn More About the History of Ellingham Hall

Ellingham Hall is not the oldest manor home in the area, but it is one of the most beautiful. Sir John Haggerston built the current manor in the 19th century, replacing a much older building on the property that dated back to the 17th century. During the next 75 years, the building served many purposes. What started out as a family home eventually became a “catch-all” property that fell into disrepair.

From being used for storage in World War II to a Preparatory School in the 1950s, it was eventually vacated in the 1980s until the current owners purchased the property. They immediately began to restore the property, repairing the damage caused by vandals and scrappers who had stripped the building of most of its metal. The family made repairs to the masonry and brought the beautiful home back to life. The venue is able to host lavish weddings where the bride and groom have exclusive use of the property.

Ellingham Hall Weddings and Events

Ellingham Hall offers multiple areas for your wedding ceremony. The rooftop, ceremony room, chapel, front lawn, and under the holly trees are available options. A traditional church wedding at St. Maurices is also possible. Seating ranges from 60 to 140 guests depending on which area you choose. Whether you choose an inside ceremony or prefer a ceremony on the lawn, the Ellingham Hall team will assist you throughout the planning process to ensure your wedding day is everything you have ever wanted it to be.

My Ellingham Hall wedding photography is able to capture the beauty and emotion that will make your day so beautiful. As laughter and happy toasts fill the air, I will wander amongst your guests looking for those once-in-a-lifetime moments. For all of the serious moments, there are twice as many joyous moments. As soon as you say “I do”, all the stress and anxiety that went into planning your wedding day fades, and you can finally relax. You can roam the grounds and enjoy everything about your first day as husband and wife.
